Strong People Project

Strong People is a long-term Ukrainian based project that helps internally displaced children within Ukraine. Project’s main objective is to restore the psychophysical health of those who suffered as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine. Ukrainian San Antonio, through generous donations of our members and community at large, is very proud to support the Strong People initiative. Initial funding for the project came from a charity event held at the end of June 2022 at Emma Hotel in San-Antonio, TX.

The Strong People project launched on July 1, 2022. Its first phase will last three months and will assist 80 children who are now living around Lviv, Ukraine.Art therapy is one of the most effective ways to heal the wounds inflicted by war and it is one of the mediums deployed in Strong People project. Art therapists use paints, clay, plasticine, and other materials when working with children who have witnessed the horrors of war. . Physical health, prevention, and recovery from various diseases of the musculoskeletal system are also important.
